Power up your day

Jump into spring with a healthy kick of a juice shot. Juice shots are concentrated servings of fresh juice with minimal healthy ingredients designed to give you a boost of nutrition.


You will need a juicer or a high speed blender with either a milk bag or muslin to strain the pulp.


Today I am sharing two of my favourite juice shots, they both have a nice warmth of heat with a boost of nutrition. Perfect first thing in the morning or as a mid morning pick-me-up!


Carrot and Ginger Juice Shot

Carrot and Ginger Juice Shot

A small and fiery shot to wake you up!

  • Piece of fresh ginger (4-5cm), peeled and chopped into chunks.

  • 1 large carrot, scrubbed. (Ends chopped off).

  • 1 medium orange, peeled and chopped into quarters.

  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (Add more of less for your desired heat intensity)

  • A couple of ice cubes (Optional)

Either;

Add all of the above to a juicer (omit ice cubes) chill until cold or add an ice cube to chill. Enjoy straight away.

Blend ALL of the above, strain using a milk bag or muslin and enjoy straight away.


Beetroot and Turmeric Juice Shot

Beetroot and Turmeric Juice Shot

A smooth juice shot with a subtle kick of heat!

  • 1 fresh beetroot (peeled and chopped into chunks)

  • Piece of fresh ginger (4-5cm, peeled and chopped into chunks)

  • 1 medium orange (peeled and chopped into quarters)

  • 1 tsp turmeric (Add more or less to suit your taste buds!)

  • A couple of ice cubes (Optional)

Either;

Add all of the above to a juicer (omit ice cubes) chill until cold or add an ice cube to chill. Enjoy straight away.

Blend ALL of the above, strain using a milk bag or muslin and enjoy straight away.
