*** FEATURING OUR LOVE VEGAN BARS ORANGE & CACAO/SALTED CARAMEL ***
Author: Jennifer Sargison
I really love developing recipes, especially when using our Love Vegan bars. I always know that the sweet treats are going to be packed not only with flavour, but also goodness. I love to indulge on a sweet treat that is healthy and indulgent.
I topped this particular recipe with shop bought dark chocolate but if you have time you can make your own chocolate. Find my homemade chocolate recipe here
I really hope you enjoy this ooey, gooey treats, I’m a little obsessed at the moment.
Ingredients
For the base
4 x orange and cacao love vegan bars
1 cup oats (GF IF NEEDED)
2 tbsp agave syrup
2 tbsp coconut oil (MELTED)
The middle
2 x salted caramel protein bites
4 large dates
2 tbsp agave syrup
2 tbsp plant based milk
The chocolate topping
A few handfuls of dark chocolate chips (use more for a thick coating or less for a thinner layer)
Method
Place the orange vegan bars and the oats into a high speed blender and blend until you get fine crumbs
Add the agave and coconut oil and blend again
The base should hold together when you press it between your fingers, if it is still to fine add another tablespoon of coconut oil.
Once the base is the right consistency then press it into either a lined tin or into 12 individual silicone moulds
Now time for the middle
Blend the salted caramel bars in the blender until you have a fine consistency
Add the dates, agave and plant milk and blend again until smooth
Please note if you have a large blender it may not blend the ingredients well, if this happens then simply transfer the contents to a small bowl and squish down using a fork
Add the middle to the base
Melt the chocolate and spoon over the caramel middle
Leave to chill and set in the fridge for a couple of hours and enjoy.
