The perfect vegan matcha latte is really simple to make and is also warming, tasty and really healthy.

Did you know that matcha tea is an easy and simple way to add powerful health benefits to your everyday diet?

A cup of matcha tea (or in this case a latte) delivers a mega dose of antioxidants to help the body fight off infections and disease like the common coughs and colds.

It does contain caffeine but unlike coffee, matcha’s caffeine buzz is much more energising and longer lasting. it also contains vitamins and minerals making it the perfect natural remedy.

Ingredients

1 teaspoon of matcha powder

Warmed dairy free milk

Optional sweetener of choice (I use agave nectar

Method

  • Add a teaspoon of matcha powder to a cup or mug (or Japanese cup if you have one) and add a splash of slightly cooled boiling water, this is so the powder doesn’t burn.

  • Using a small whisk (or Japanese matcha whisk if you have one) mix until the powder is combined without any lumps. You could use a teaspoon but it may take a little longer to become lump free.

  • Add some sugar or sweetener of your choice if you like a sweetened latte and mix.

  • Heat up some dairy free milk (I use cashew milk). I use the milk steamer that I have on my coffee machine but you can warm the milk on the stove or microwave as well.

  • Add the hot milk to the matcha and enjoy!

Healthy, warming and so good for you

Healthy, warming and so good for you

This is the perfect warm drink to enjoy to keep your body healthy and full of energy. If you have a cough or cold coming then add some matcha to your diet to give you a good dose of antioxidants and a long lasting boost of energy.

If like me you’re new to matcha latte I’d really recommend getting yourself some matcha powder and have a go at making one, I think you’ll love it

*For those of you eating a gluten free diet because of a gluten intolerance/allergy to gluten or suffering from celiac disease please check the ingredients listed in my recipes carefully. Although many of my recipes are gluten free please make sure you double check your ingredients to check. I am not intolerant to gluten so am no expert but I still like to provide GF options, please fully read your packets at home before making this, thank you :)
