The Perfect Coffee Shop Latte

This vegan latte is all you need to drag you out of bed in the morning. I am using oat milk as it froths up really well and has a nice creamy consistency and sweetening it using agave as its a natural sweetener and it also tastes just like a caramel latte when mixed in with an espresso. You have the option to add a squirt of vegan cream to the top which I sometime do if I have friends round and we fancy a little indulgence. Top this with some agave and you have the perfect Starbucks latte.

I only drink one coffee per day so I make sure that I have a double shot and use the best coffee I can afford. I like to use lavazza and I have been drinking this brand for years.

I’m so lucky to have a coffee machine that grinds coffee beans, if you don’t have this option then you can also use instant espresso coffee or use ground coffee in a cafetiere to make your double shot. My coffee machine also froths up milk so I use this to make my morning latte, if you don’t have one then you can simply warm your milk in the microwave and use a battery milk frother


Ingredients

1 double shot of coffee

1-2 teaspoons agave

1 cup of frothy oat milk

Vegan squirty cream


Method

  • Prepare your double espresso

  • Add the sweetener to the coffee and mix it in

  • Prepare the oat milk until it is nice and frothy with lots of little air bubbles

  • Pour the milk into the sweetened coffee

  • Add an optional squirt of vegan cream

  • Drizzle with some agave and enjoy
